There is no single standard price for facial acupuncture across Taiwan. At one clinic, “one session” may mean facial needling only; at another, it may also include the physician's clinical expertise, cleansing, manual fascial relaxation, facial lymphatic drainage, shoulder and neck relaxation, scalp care, calming post-treatment care, and aftercare guidance. Needle count or session price alone therefore does not provide a meaningful direct comparison.
Self-pay facial acupuncture fees in Taiwan vary considerably according to location, physician experience, appointment duration, treatment scope, and the care provided before and after needling. Dingyan's current introductory price when no particular physician is requested is NT$4,880 per session, excluding the registration fee. The session includes professional assessment, cleansing, manual fascial relaxation, facial lymphatic drainage, facial acupuncture, calming repair care, and aftercare guidance, with care also extending to the shoulders, neck, and scalp.
How is facial acupuncture generally priced?
Facial acupuncture is generally a self-pay medical service. Most clinics charge per session, while some may offer different plans according to the number of visits, treatment area, or the scope of care included. There is currently no single market price that represents every clinic.
When comparing prices, first confirm what the quoted fee actually includes. Even when treatments share the same name, appointment time may range from a few dozen minutes to nearly two hours, and the depth of assessment and before-and-after care may differ completely.
| What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Medical assessment | Whether facial shape, muscle tension, fascial pull, facial asymmetry, and the overall condition are assessed. |
| Treatment scope | Whether treatment is limited to facial needling or also assesses the scalp, neck, shoulders, and fascial tension elsewhere in the body. |
| Appointment time | Whether consultation, cleansing, manual fascial relaxation, needling, needle retention, and post-treatment care are included. |
| Before-and-after care | Whether facial lymphatic drainage, shoulder-neck and scalp care, calming repair care, and aftercare guidance are included. |
| Medical team | Physician experience, assessment system, team standards, and the method of follow-up. |
Why do prices vary so widely between clinics?
Facial acupuncture is not a completely standardized product. The difference between treatments is not simply the cost of needles; it also lies in how the physician reads a face and whether the session includes complete assessment and care.
- Depth of assessment: Whether treatment follows fixed points only, or also evaluates muscles, fascia, skeletal proportions, and head-neck tension.
- Degree of individualization: Whether the session is adapted to facial shape, asymmetry, daily habits, and the condition on that day.
- Completeness of care: Whether pre-treatment relaxation, calming post-treatment care, and aftercare instructions are included.
- Physician experience: Different facial shapes, ages, and tissue conditions require different clinical judgments. The precision and effectiveness of each needle also depend on experience.
- Environment and service: Treatment privacy, appointment time, cleansing protocols, and one-to-one care.
Dingyan facial acupuncture price and session content
Dingyan regards facial acupuncture as a medical aesthetic service that requires assessment, planning, and long-term follow-up. Every visit begins with facial structure, muscle tension, fascial pull, and the overall condition, and the physician plans the session according to the condition at that visit.

Can facial acupuncture be compared by needle count alone?
We do not recommend it. Needle count is only one piece of information and cannot by itself represent the depth of a physician's assessment or the final result.
Tissue thickness, muscle direction, tension, and left-right differences vary across facial areas. Some conditions require several areas to be coordinated; others call for less unnecessary stimulation. What matters is the purpose of each needle, the reason for its depth, and whether the overall coordination and sequence are appropriate.
Dingyan does not apply one fixed needle count to everyone. The physician works from facial structure, muscles, fascia, and the condition on the day, focusing on the execution and purpose of each needle rather than being distracted by counting them.
How many facial acupuncture sessions are usually needed?
The number of sessions is influenced by age, muscle tension, tissue condition, daily habits, the change you hope to achieve, and the frequency with which you can return. There is no fixed answer that suits everyone.
Some people want a single session before an important event. Others want a more complete plan for long-standing asymmetry, descending contours, or an imbalance of tension. After the first assessment and treatment response, the physician discusses a suitable follow-up rhythm.
Based on Dingyan's average long-term clinical experience, most people can notice a difference after one session. For a more complete adjustment of long-established muscle use, asymmetry, or head-neck tension, changes can first be observed through the treatment-phase rhythm. Once the condition gradually becomes stable, care can move into a more relaxed maintenance phase.
We observe whether the previous change continues and adjust the priorities for the next session according to each response.
We monitor whether life stress, facial-expression habits, and tissue tension are accumulating again, and reassess when needed.
Frequently asked questions about facial acupuncture cost
Is facial acupuncture covered by Taiwan's National Health Insurance?
Facial acupuncture is primarily a self-pay medical service. Confirm the fee and included care directly with each clinic.
Does using more needles make facial acupuncture more effective?
No. Needle count should reflect facial structure, muscles and fascia, and the treatment goal. More is not automatically better.
Do I need to commit to multiple sessions at my first visit?
No. You may begin with one complete assessment and session, then discuss the next step according to your condition, response after treatment, and available schedule.
What is included in Dingyan's single-session fee?
A Dingyan session is not limited to facial needling. It also includes medical assessment, cleansing, manual fascial relaxation, facial lymphatic drainage, shoulder-neck relaxation, scalp care, facial acupuncture, calming repair care, and aftercare guidance. It therefore should not be directly compared with a fee that covers needling alone.
